Welcome to RURAL COMPLEX FOR COMPLETE EDUCATION RCCE Public Senior Secondary School was Established in 1995.

ACADEMICS

RCCE is known for its learning - the skills that we aim to build include higher order skills like Analytical, Application and Creativity. To build these skills the class rooms are equipped with trained teachers who conduct activity based learning that involve all the learners. Understanding the concepts through a variety of methods is done so as to make sure all different type of learners learn in the class. Learning is not just academic at RCCE but extends to a variety of literary activities like Debating, Quizzing, to drama and theatre, to artistic pursuits like art, craft, dance, music apart from sports and physical education.

ACADEMIC PLAN
RCCE has a calendar that distributes the work done during the year into logical compartments, focusing on studies, assessments, all-round development of the child as well as including time for annual events like sports, literary competitions, the celebration of all major festivals, fire drills and term breaks.
TIMETABLE

Typically, a day has 8 periods and a week, 48 periods. Children come to school from Monday to Saturday, while teachers attend training in staff meetings on Second Saturday and Last working Day.
In pre-primary classes, two periods are allocated for activities such as Physical Education, Art, Craft, Music, Dance, Library and Role Play
and the other half are dedicated for the focused development of Language, Maths and General Knowledge skills. However, given that we follow theme-based learning, activities and studies seamlessly merge into each other. For example, a child may learn techniques of art during
a class dedicated to mathematics and may learn the concept of size, shape, and colour in the class.
In primary classes, about 12 periods are provided for activities like Physical Education, Art, Craft, Music, Dance, Library and 30 periods for Maths, Science, Social Studies, Languages, and Computers.

 DAILY SCHOOL TIMINGS

School starts at 8.20am. Brief assemblies are conducted daily. The school finishes at 2.20pm.

The admission process consists of a visit by parents and the child to the school, filling up of the application and registration form, a fitment assessment of the child by the class teacher and a formal meeting of the parents with the Head of the Institution. The whole process can be completed in a day and as per Delhi School Education Rules & Act-1973.

ECONOMIC & ACADEMIC RESOURCE

RCCE is the school which was started for the parents of economical weaker & Backword towards Education but wants to teach his/her ward in a public school. Keeping this in mind our fees structure is very low which is affordable by everyone. Teachers are well qualified as per the govt. norms.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY

RCCE is a new age institution that focuses on a skills-based, student-centered, inquiry-oriented, personalized model of learning as opposed to the traditional content-based, teacher-centered, examination-oriented, one-size-fits-all model of teaching.
CARE OF DIVERSITY IN THE CLASS

The teachers and other staff always remain aware about the diversity in the class. Since the students belong to various state, their culture, language, eating habit, language are different. So RCCE has requested the teachers to converse with the students only in English to make them feel unite.
REMEDIAL CLASSES FOR WEAKERS

RCCE provides remedial classes in the zero periods without charging any extra fees to make weaker students Weak to Average and Average to Normal.
SYNDICATE SYSTEM (PEER LEARNING)

The seats are fixed in the manner that on every desk there are one weak and one intelligent student. The intelligent student helps weak student in his/her academic improvement.
USE OF AUDIO VISUAL SYSTEM OF LEARNING

The school has a well equipped Projector room where students are taken to teach some specific topics which are not easy for the students.
SKILLS-BASED AS OPPOSED TO CONTENT BASED

Traditional Indian teaching places excessive focus on what is taught, with the assumption that there is a mass of information available either with the teacher or in a textbook that somehow needs to be programmed into the child’s mind, which the child then copies onto exam sheets and performs well in the examination. The textbooks accordingly are designed to provide answers to questions rather than provoke the child to think and ask questions. At RCCE, on the other hand, we focus predominantly upon making the children raise questions themselves to find answers; the teacher guides the class and helps learners build long-term skills, and not merely for exams.
Accordingly, a Mathematics teacher introduces multiplication or addition in four different ways and lets them choose the method that is comfortable to them, rather than asking them to memorize the steps or tables to arrive at an answer. A Science teacher at RCCE focuses on teaching skills of observation, tabulation, inquiry, rather than simply giving the children pre-made facts and figures. An English teacher focuses on developing language and communication skills, rather than getting children to learn answers from the lessons as they are.

STUDENT CENTERED AS OPPOSED TO TEACHER CENTERED

The image that you have of a traditional school is that of a teacher in control of the class with a chalk and textbook standing near the blackboard. A teacher at our school is typically sitting along with the children, as one of them, letting them lead the knowledge discovery process by assigning tasks of a journal or project or worksheet.

INQUIRY ORIENTED AS OPPOSED TO EXAM ORIENTED

Traditional schools tend to focus almost entirely on examinations where children memorize answers that match the examiner's expectations. Along the way, somewhere it is forgotten what this knowledge is for. However, here at RCCE, we focus on conceptual learning; students must understand and be able to apply what they learn. Here, the focus is on developing a child's inquisitive mind and setting examinations is only to test the applications of concepts.

PERSONALIZED MODEL OF LEARNING AS OPPOSED TO ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL MODEL OF TEACHING

A traditional school thrives on teaching the same thing, in the same way to every child. At RCCE, we clearly understand that there are several learning styles, and one need to personalize the learning to suit the style of the child. We believe in and implement the concept of Multiple Intelligences. We are also of firm view that there are different levels of learning in a given class, and that the work assigned should be challenging to children in each of these levels. Finally, we believe that one can't teach anything to any child and can only provide a conducive environment wherein a child would want to learn.
ASSESSMENT & TRAINING NEED OF TEACHERS & STAFF

The teachers are sent to various training programmes organized by the Deptt. They are also sent for the In-Service-Training programmes.

ASSESSMENT OF STUDENTS

Continuous Assessments and Examinations

At RCCE, the progress of every child is evaluated meaningfully through a system of continuous assessments. How a child learns and how much each child learns and assimilates in terms of content, skills, aptitudes, and attitudes prescribed for every class level, are evaluated effectively throughout the year.
The constituents of the continuous assessment system at our school focus on evaluating each child’s progress at both the individual and the collective levels. This system of continuous assessment is designed to ensure that every student takes responsibility for his/her own learning. At the same time, this system makes the educators adequately accountable for what their students learn and how effectively they finally perform.

Unit Tests:
In the course of transacting every unit of content in every subject and after every unit is completed, every student is given common as well as individualized assignments and projects in class and at home to evaluate how much and how well of the same has been assimilated. This ideally happens approximately once every two weeks for every subject.
However, the thumb rule is to conduct such testing whenever a particular topic (or subtopic where relevant) is completed. These tests are called ‘Unit Test’ at RCCE and are given to students of Grade 1 and above. Such testing is done through a variety of oral and written forms – as per the needs of the subject and topic concerned – and is designed not just on how much of the content of the topic concerned has been effectively assimilated by every individual student, but also on how well students can apply the same to real-life situations.
Terminal Examinations: For Grades Nursery and above, though the focus is on the work completed in the particular term at the end of which the Term End Exam is conducted, the second term Exam do have certain elements from the first term and the third term Exam do focus on the academic work done in every subject over the whole school year.

PARENTS AS PARTNERS

At RCCE, parents are partners in the education of their children. Only when both the school and parents work in tandem can learning goals be achieved. We keep parents well informed through a variety of means such as through the online school management software, SMS alerts, Phone Calls etc. Time is allocated for regular interaction with teachers and with the school leadership team.

ONLINE FEE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

Fee is collected through Fee Management Software.

PARENT-TEACHERS MEETING

Teachers will be available for any kind of queries that a parent may have pertaining to studies, assessments, class work or homework, health issues, etc. Parents can visit the school on any day to discuss their child's progress or other concerns.
Apart from this, Second Saturdays of each month are allocated for formal Parent Teacher Meeting (PTM). Parents will receive a detailed assessment of their child a week before the end-term PTM and they can discuss their child's progress in the last term and the plan for the next term. The entire school leadership team will also be available for interaction during these meetings. There are 5 PTMs in each academic year.

SOCIAL MEDIA

We maintain a very active on our Facebook Page, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter etc. where we regularly post updates on events and activities that our students are involved in, both within and outside school. In addition to competitions, fairs, presentations and other events, teachers also regularly photograph classroom activities so that parents can get a good sense of what is going on in the classroom periodically. We also encourage parents to subscribe to our Facebook Page, Youtube Channel, Instagram & Twitter Page, which is updated with coverage of important events and activities.

CAREER & COUNSELING AT RCCE

The focus of Counseling office is two-fold – the first is to help students explore and understand the innumerable career choices available to them in their future and make broad career goals; the second is to help students make a robust plan to prepare for, identify and apply to colleges which will enable them to reach those goals.

Career Exploration

At RCCE, we believe in a systematic approach to career exploration, because establishing broad career goals will help students make better-informed choices about subjects to study in future.

CHILD SAFETY

The focus of the school is always by thinking the safety of the child is our primary aim. RCCE organizes many lectures in the morning Assembly about the safety of the Child. Mock Drills are held as per the guidelines of the Deptt. And all the safety points of the students as directed by CBSE, Director of Education and other Govt. agencies is followed strictly by the school.

PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL

Pre-primary education is the foundation for lifelong learning and the starting point for formal education. A child’s development is a gradual process. At RCCE, we understand and respect that each child is unique and has different abilities and interests. Our curriculum objectives have been laid out as per the developmental characteristics of each age group. The pre-primary school curriculum has been designed to nurture the following developmental objectives:
Language arts and phonics
In pre-primary years, we place a lot of emphasis on teaching English as most of the children come from homes where the primary language is not English. Year-wise objectives are laid out whereby in early years, the emphasis is on speaking, listening, pre-reading & writing skills. Comprehension is a skill which is focused on, throughout the pre-primary school years. It is an integral part of language development.
Phonics is used to teach English in a structured manner. It has been designed to be implemented across the classes from Nursery to Class 3. The objective of the phonics program is to build the skill where children become independent readers, spellers and writers.

Language should aid communication and children are encouraged to express themselves in a variety of ways to a variety of audiences using the skills acquired. On a daily basis, stories are read, discussed and interpreted in the classrooms. In the early years, stories, rhymes, poems and non-fiction text (small passages with topics which interest the children of this age group) are read and discussed in the classrooms. Children participate every day in the classroom discussions, retelling the stories, sequencing the stories, reciting rhymes, picture reading and a engaging in a variety of activities designed for vocabulary building.
A large pool of different types of resources and activities are made available to the teachers to teach and learn the language. Most of the books are available in the classroom library. Providing the best teaching methodologies and resources, RCCE is moving towards being the best pre-primary school in this area.

Cognitive Development

Pre-math emphasizes the quality and essence of numbers using practical activities. Application of this knowledge to everyday life is what makes the learning interesting for children. For instance to teach the number 2, all things that exist in nature in twos are used to explain its qualitative and quantitative aspect. For example, 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2 legs, etc.
Our curriculum at the pre-primary school level has been designed to introduce mathematical concepts in a simple and tangible manner concentrating on one attribute at a time and progressing gradually. Our lesson plans are built to develop thinking and problem-solving abilities through activities, observation, analysis and discussions.
Knowledge and understanding of the world
The pre-primary curriculum has been developed to make children understand and explore their immediate environment and the physical world. They learn the basic technique of exploring, questioning and drawing conclusions from their learning. Basic concepts pertaining to science and social studies are covered in this stage. They are also taught to develop care and concern for animals, plants and environmental protection. Concepts like human body, foods, animals, environment, weather, culture and festivals, neighborhood, plants, sea-life etc are introduced at this stage.
Physical and personal development

In the early years, physical and personal development is given paramount importance as it is a very important aspect of overall development. Physical education takes care of developing fine and gross motor skills and a lot of time is dedicated to this. Objectives are set for each age group in terms of what they are expected to do physically and necessary developmental aids are used to achieve those. Stamina, balance, rhythm, strength, agility, and concentration are developed using a variety of enjoyable games and activities. This also helps to develop good habits, self-care ability and a healthy lifestyle and enables the children to understand the limit of physical capabilities and develop awareness of self-protection.

Social and moral development

At RCCE, we recognize that a child will grow into a confident adult only if (s) he has a strong sense of self-image. This aspect is worked upon every single day in our school through stories, role-play, group activities, and show activities. Children are encouraged and taught to listen to and respect others’ views and opinions. They are taught to differentiate between good and bad, to be aware of rules and positive discipline.
At RCCE, we work tirelessly to bring out the best in our children so that they can be the beautiful citizens that we want them to be.

Aesthetics and fine arts appreciation

Art is introduced to children so that they use it to play, to express, to explore and to enjoy. The art room is well-stocked with quality resources like paper, crayons, colors, brushes, easels, etc. Teachers with a well-defined art curriculum introduce children to various art forms.
Music is introduced to children at this pre-primary school stage so that they develop a love for it. In the early years, children are made aware of rhythm and melody through group singing of songs and rhymes. A well-equipped music room with drums, harmonium, computer and music system run by a well-trained teacher provides the perfect environment for children to learn and appreciate music.

PRIMARY SCHOOL

At RCCE, we strictly follow the curriculum set by NCERT upto class 8th and CBSE in class 9th to 12th.
Our primary school curriculum ensures that the learning of students builds on what they have learnt earlier. It also helps the students correlate classroom learning to the real world, creating relevance to the learning process. We also emphasize the development of self-study and time-management skills, which are essential for middle and high school.
In our primary school, the focus is on learning the concepts in core subjects (English, Hindi, Math, Science, Social Science, art, music and physical education) through activities, projects, and worksheets.

English

Our English curriculum for primary school has been divided into four areas:
1. LISTENING & COMPREHENSION
2. SPEAKING & COMPREHENSION
3. READING & COMPREHENSION
4. WRITING & COMPREHENSION
This has been done to create clear objectives of developing language skills in students. It enables the students to be competent and confident in using the language.
The tools that we use to enable this learning are guided reading programs, show & tell, role-play, drama, songs, poetry, storytelling, writing of short stories, essays etc. Language development is a continuous process that occurs across all the subject classes. Participation in classroom discussions is a very important tool for language development and it is highly encouraged in our school.

Mathematics

At RCCE, we teach Math in a way that is relevant to students. They are encouraged to apply the concepts taught, to real-world problems. Math is taught in traditional schools as formulae with no relevance to their application. We intend to change this and teach concepts only after explaining their relevance to solving practical problems. By the end of primary school, children will be very comfortable with handling problems pertaining to numbers, shapes, measurement and data analysis.

Social Studies

Study of self and human surroundings is covered under social studies in our primary schools. The child becomes aware of the community and nation around her and the various roles they play in this setting.
Sciences

Science is taught with the intention of helping children understand the natural world around them through observation, collecting and interpreting information, and presenting their understanding using models, graphs, flowcharts, diagrams etc.
Physical Education
Our curriculum mandates each student to spend a certain amount of time playing sports and doing physical activity. At RCCE, students are introduced to different types of sports where they get to develop different aspects of their physical and mental strengths. Sports are used to develop team spirit and a sense of participation and not just winning. Big playgrounds and sports arena in both our campuses provide the perfect pitches.

Fine Arts

Art, Music and Drama activities also have been designed with the objective of inculcating the art of expression using different forms. Our curriculum has been designed to nurture imagination, which is an innate quality present in all children.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Middle school, comprising of Grades 6 to 8, prepares children for the rigors of high school. The learning objectives are set as per the NCERT curriculum while also ensuring that the minimum requirements for CBSE are fulfilled.
The middle school curriculum has been designed to prepare the children for more rigorous academic requirements for high school. All the subjects are taught by subject specialist teachers who work with students to develop a thorough understanding of the topics introduced in middle school.
Along with core subjects students will have the option of choosing a second language and a specific P.E. activity. They also can choose between art, music and drama, in order to be able to focus more deeply on one of these.

English

The English curriculum in middle school is expanded and developed for students to understand different varieties of prose, poetry, drama, and non-fiction texts. Students are encouraged to read a wide variety of books to expand their horizon. To progress their learning, specific skills such as spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax are taught. At this stage, students are required to learn to put their thoughts in written form through the proper use of grammar, punctuation etc. Creative writing, making drafts, editing reports, journals and essay writing are part of our comprehensive language development program.

Science

In middle school, sciences are taught keeping in mind the scientific methodology, wherein students predict, investigate and make conclusions for the situations given to them. This inculcates an inquiry-based mindset in students. A lot of emphasis is laid on practical experiences and experimentation to help children understand the facts and apply these to real-world situations.

Math

The Math Curriculum has been developed to train the students in problem-solving, logical reasoning and analytical skills. It is also designed to be taught in such a way that students should be able to make connections to the outside world and to other subjects. A lot of students develop an aversion to Math for the way it has been taught traditionally. Through the use of models and ICT to supplement classroom teaching, a positive attitude can be developed towards the subject.

Social Studies

Social studies are taught in order to make children understand their immediate environment, the neighborhood, the distant lands and their people. A clear understanding of the political/social structure of the government and the democratic processes is given through role-playing, mock sessions and visits to relevant places. Availability of the interactive boards in each classroom makes each experience much more real and tangible.

Physical Education and Activities

We offer a wide array of indoor and outdoor games and activities at RCCE. The challenge for the body and mind is seen as an essential element of growing up in RCCE.
Art, Music and Drama have a definite curriculum. Students can choose one of the activities. Along with learning the requisite skills, students are given projects to work on individually or in groups in each activity.
Art students will be given assignments to assess and discuss various artists from Renaissance to the modern era. Students are also encouraged to create and exhibit their artwork. Throughout the year, we display students’ work in school, and also conduct formal exhibitions to which the parent community is invited.
All activities are taught by professionally trained teachers.

HIGH SCHOOL

RCCE is affiliated with CBSE (till Class 12th) for high school. In keeping with our mission and values, our high school curriculum CBSE, place high emphasis on practical application of concepts learned in the classroom. Our curriculum are structured with a level of rigout that will enable our students to be well prepared for any course that they wish to join after passing class 12th.
